March's FWCA Meeting

Our program

The guest speaker for March is Ken Justice. Ken's southern roots run deep, growing up in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He now lives in Benton, Arkansas. Ken completed undergraduate studies at Andrew College, Cuthbert, Georgia and received his BA in Religion from La Grange College, La Grange, Georgia in 1971 where his poetry was first published.

He spent the next twenty years as a U. S. Navy enlisted person and later officer administrative specialist. A disabled Vietnam veteran, he returned to school at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia leading to a Middle-School teaching certificate and substituted in the Tidewater area before continuing training at Tidewater Community College and St. Leo College.

He joined the staff of what today is the Titan Corporation where he was the Facility Security Officer for the Defense Contractor in Chesapeake, Virginia.

His first serious work, a poem The Shepherd’s Song was published in Evangel magazine. Most recently, The Portrait was published at Bewilderingstories.com which was selected as an Editors Choice by that publication. All the Time in the World is scheduled to be released at TheWildRosePress.com in mid-April and No Greater Love is in the editorial process for release later this year. Semi-retired, he works for the state’s Department of Workforce Services as an unemployment insurance interviewer.


The Fiction Writers of Central Arkansas holds its regular monthly meeting at the Baptist Health Medical Center on 9:00 am - Noon in Dining Room #3 at the hospital. You can use the entrance to the Conference Center beneath the skywalk from the parking garage, then down the long hallway to the cafeteria. This meeting is open to writers of all genre.

The hospital complex is at exit 7 off I-630 in west Little Rock.
