Rhonda is a graduate of Harding College and over the years has won numerous local, regional and national writing contests. Two of her children's stories have been published in Highlights for Children Magazine. One of those stories, "Sandstorm!" won Highlights' 2008 Annual Fiction Award, and was a Runner Up for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators 2008 Magazine Merit Award. Both pieces merited her the honor of Author of the Month by Highlights for the month of their publication. Rhonda lives in Searcy with her husband Gary and children Nathan and Jin Yao, who both attend Harding University. She is a member of the White County Creative Writers, the Central Arkansas Writers and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Rhonda is currently working on a high interest/low vocabulary young adult novel.

The Fiction Writers of Central Arkansas holds its regular monthly meeting at the Baptist Health Medical Center on 9:00 am - Noon in Dining Room #3 at the hospital. You can use the entrance to the Conference Center beneath the skywalk from the parking garage, then down the long hallway to the cafeteria. This meeting is open to writers of all genre.

The hospital complex is at exit 7 off I-630 in west Little Rock.
